Poiesz Supermarkten is a family company that was founded in Sneek 98 years ago. It has stores in the north of the Netherlands and more continue to open their doors. When it comes to sustainability, Poiesz is keen to lead the way. The company buys locally wherever possible, is a partner of Wecycle and the Sustainable Pork Value Chain Association (KDV), and for a number of years now has been working together happily with FeedValid to optimise use of its waste streams.
FeedValid ensures that all surplus bread is converted into premium animal feeds. Tom van der Bruggen, who is responsible for waste streams at Poiesz: “It’s important to us that our waste streams are put to good use.
